Silvia Guerra M.S CCC-SLP

Hi there!

I'm Silvia, a bilingual speech-language pathologist and a native Spanish speaker. I graduated from Florida International University with a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and completed extensive clinical rotations in the areas of pediatrics and geriatrics.

It has always been my passion to help children and adults with speech and language disorders. Prior to beginning the program for speech and language, I was a reading tutor for the county for many years, helping children overcome reading difficulties and excel in reading comprehension. Moreover, I was a volunteer at a skilled nursing facility for adults before deciding to become a speech therapist and provided services to older adults with many speech disorders ranging from aphasia to dysarthria. I have worked in both pediatrics and geriatrics in a number of settings, including but not limited to private clinics, schools, hospitals and in-home visits. I enjoy working with all ages from children to adults and love being able to see all patients progress periodically with our strategies.

In addition, I have personal life experience with children. I am a mother of two wonderful children with very distinct personalities that provide me on a day-to-day basis with hands on skills on the best strategies to employ with children. In my free time, I enjoy reading history books, visiting museums and art galleries and most of all, spending time with my children, husband and dog Charlie.

At our practice, we focus on providing a customized therapy approach to each student and patient, we believe each child or adult is unique and special and there is no one size fits all model, and we continuously strive to fulfill our motto "Giving you the power of Speech" with all of our patients, students and families.

Speech 101 Therapy Team

Founder & President

Hola!

I am a licensed Speech Language Pathology Assistant in the wonderful state of Texas. Born and raised in the DFW area, I pursued a degree in communication sciences and in 2006 received a Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from The University of Texas at Dallas. Whoosh!

I have enjoyed every aspect of speech therapy but most of all the privilege of working with so many different groups of children of all ages. My favorite part of therapy is engaging and working collaboratively to improve communication for all. I am driven to continue sharing my experience and compassion to develop positive outcomes.

After therapy I usually return home to 5 beautiful and energetic children. As a family, we spend countless evenings and weekends on the pitch training for soccer or at a local stadium cheering our favorite international team “El Tri” (Mexico). Afterwards, we gather together to enjoy a home cooked meal since I also enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes.

Hello

I’m Sue Berscheid from Denver, Colorado. My introduction to Speech-Language Pathology occurred while volunteering as a teenager at an Easter Seals Camp.

Assisting children with communication delays deeply influenced me, setting me on the path to become a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist.

After graduating from the University of Northern Colorado, I began working in the schools with students grades kindergarten-High School. Over the years, I have also provided services in Home Health and private practice, offering in person and virtual therapy to children with a diverse range of disabilities.

Coaching parents to support their children with speech, language, or learning challenges is a passion of mine. As empty nesters, my husband and I enjoy spending time outdoors, watching sports, and spoiling our pound puppies.
